He has worked in management positions at for-profit (Willamette Week newspaper), non-profit (Portland Recycling Team) and governmental (DEQ, City of Portland, and Metro) environments during his career as well as working on political campaigns in the 1970s.
He retired from his position as Manager of the Waste Reduction & Outreach Department at Metro in 2008, and joined the ReBuilding Center board in January of 2009.
He lives in NE Portland with his wife, Cornelia, and continues his commitment to communities and the environment with his volunteer activities.
