CLASS DESCRIPTION
Save money and water by fixing your toilet! Toilets are one of the most common places for water leaks in a home, and over time a small leak can waste thousands of gallons and hundreds of dollars. Fortunately, repairing a leaky toilet is often simple and quick, and we’ll show you how. Also, if you have an older toilet (from 1995 or before) you might be wasting 2-5 gallons per flush. We’ll walk you through removing an old toilet and show you replace it with a newer efficient one.
Water-saving kits for each student are generously provided by the Portland Water Bureau.
This is a skills-based class where you will learn how to use tools and make repairs, but you will not build a project to take home.
Though no water will be flowing, in this hands-on class you will learn:
How to locate and repair common leaks
How to clear clogs
How to remove and replace a toilet
How to take advantage of rebates and incentives from Portland Water Bureau
Skill level: This class is ideal for beginners ages 18 and over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission.
Class Schedule: Class will run for 1.5 hours and no breaks are planned.
