2025 Salvage showdown builder’s gallery
We asked 14 local artists, builders, and makers what they could do with $100 of salvaged materials from the ReBuilding Center. Over the summer they came to our store and sought inspiration from old-growth lumber, hardwood floors, and antique fixtures - all rescued from the landfill. And they created beautiful, functional, pieces of art.
Voting is NOW OPEN to decide which of these talented local builders will win this years coveted Scrappy Award - and the bragging rights that go with!

Artist Spotlight Raffle
Our first Artist Spotlight is shining on Corey Houck - a craftsman at Sidetracked Workshop, a modular and custom record console workshop. Corey wanted to make a version of their popular “A-Side” cabinet with entirely reclaimed materials - which he dubbed the “Thrown-Away Side Cabinet.” The piece was crafted from a pair of reclaimed plywood doors, a piece of wrought iron repurposed from fencing, and shelf brackets which became decorative legs.
Do you want the chance to show off your vinyl collection in style? The Thrown-Away Side Cabinet is being raffled off now! Raffle tickets are just $15 and raise funds for the ReBuilding Center - so we can continue to rescue materials like this from the landfill, and support artists, builders, homeowners and more with access to affordable materials.
