This is a lecture-based class with hands on learning such as hand-tool sharpening, set up and traditional layout.
This is a skills-based class where you will learn how to use tools, but you will not build a project to take home.
This class is brought to you by Kezurou-Kai PDX, a local Japanese Woodworking club.
Topics covered:
History of tools and techniques
Proper use of tools and upkeep such as sharpening
Hands on learning with sharpening stones, chisels, hammer, handsaws and planes.
Skill level: This class is great for beginners ages 18 and over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission..
Class Schedule: This class will run for 3 hours with no break planned
Price: We have moved to a sliding scale pricing model while funding allows! Choose which tier fits your situation best:
$120 - Pay-It-Forward Ticket: Helps fund access for others.
$95 - True Cost Ticket: Covers the actual cost of running the class.
$70 - Neighborly Rate Ticket: For those with limited expendable income.
$45 - Low-Barrier Access Ticket: For those facing financial hardship.
