Welcome, Members! Intro to Members’ Open Shop provides an orientation to the ReBuilding Center Open Shop and all the tools within. Join us for a hands-on and skill-building tour and learn the basics so you can start building on your own!
This class is required before members can attend Members' Open Shop shifts. Open Shop is a benefit extended to ReBuilding Center Maker & Community Members. Check out our Become a Member page to learn more!
Topics covered:
Measuring and marking, including secrets of measuring tapes and speed squares
Using drills and hammers effectively
Discussion of what types of materials to use indoors vs. outdoors
How to use chop saws and table saws safely
Using sanders efficiently
Introduction to brad nailers and air tools
Skill level: This class is ideal for beginners ages 18 and over
Class Schedule: Class will run for 3 hours with no break planned
