Join us for an overview of the essentials of safely operating router, including trim and plunge routers. (Router table and demels may be covered as well depending on the needs of class)
Learn the changing of different bits and usage, and how to make adjustments.
- We will not be covering more advanced techniques, such as making trim and joinery. -
This is an overview of the tool itself.
This is a skills-based class where you will learn how to use routers but you will not make a project to take home. If you have a Router at home, feel free to bring it with you to class!
Topics covered:
Basic Uses for routers
Differences between a trim router, and plunge router
Differences in bits and profiles and how to change them
Adjustments and some coverage of jigs for the Router
Skill level: This is for adults aged 18 or over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission. While not required, some familiarity with basic woodworking skills is a plus.
Class Schedule: Class will run for 3 hours and no breaks are planned
Price: We have moved to a sliding scale pricing model while funding allows! Choose which tier fits your situation best:
$120 - Pay-It-Forward Ticket: Helps fund access for others.
$95 - True Cost Ticket: Covers the actual cost of running the class.
$70 - Neighborly Rate Ticket: For those with limited expendable income.
