Intro to Electrical: Safety and Simple Repairs

Take the first step in understanding your home electrical system! This class will introduce you to the basics. Come away with an essential understanding of how your home’s electrical system works and how to do simple troubleshooting and repairs.

• How to be safe when working with electricity

• How circuits work

• How to map your house

• What kind of electrical wires you’re likely to have in your home and what the colors mean

• The difference between volts, amps, and watts and why that matters

• Hands on practice on how to replace outlets

• Much more!

Skill level: This class is ideal for beginners ages 18 and over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission

Special note: This class covers the fundamentals and will be required for anyone taking future Intermediate Electrical classes at the ReBuilding Center
