Woodturning: Lathe a lamp
This is a TWO-DAY class that has the same start and end times on BOTH days:
Learn about Lathe anatomy and safety as well as turning tools and techniques. You'll learn to use various tools like gouges and scrapers to shape the wood and create the desired form. Start by practicing beads and coves, the foundation of woodturning.You'll be using reclaimed hardwood to make a functional lamp base!
Day 1 : Learn how to use roughing gouges, spindle gouges, and carbide tools to shape the wood into a lamp base.
Day 2: Students will learn basic electrical skills and wire their lathed base into a lamp to take home!
Then you will learn how to wire your custom made base into a fully functional lamp!
This is a project-based class and you’ll take your lamp home with you.

Skill level: This class is ideal for beginners ages 18 and over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission.
