Brighten up your life with a new light fixture! Wall and ceiling lights can be simple or ornate, but behind the scenes there are (usually) some standardized parts and typical wiring configurations.

This is a skills-based class where you will learn how to use tools and replace lamps with a mix of hands-on tasks and demonstrations, but you will not build a project to take home.

Topics covered:

  • Common light fixtures and mounting hardware

  • Types of boxes & enclosures

  • Typical cabling & switching configurations

  • How to identify hot, neutral and switched conductors

  • Testing & troubleshooting
